Welcome to 595 Media Road. Begin your tour by noting the long drive that leads you to this charming cottage setting. The drive is lined with forsythia on the left and junipers on the right.
The forsythia bloom in late winter or early spring adding a touch of brightness to the landscape and privacy for the rest of the year. If you are looking for a setting to enjoy gardening, nature, or just to get away from it all, then you are home.
With an oversized parking area, friends and family will have lots of room for vehicles. As you look around note the well established evergreens and other trees that frame the house including a beautiful pink wild cherry tree.
The owner has also planted many perennials that will be making an appearances throughout the warmer months. You can enjoy all of the flora from the covered porch that is a perfect size for relaxing or grilling.
In the rear of the home, you will see Bilco doors for easy access to the full basement if you do not want to use the interior steps. Also, located in the backyard is a one car garage /shed that is perfect for a small vehicle, a mower, or gardening equipment.
The current owners also added fruit trees to the existing trees and in a few short years, you will be making apple pies. There is an Amish farm next door so you can enjoy their horses and ponies.
The interior of this cape charmer was almost completely redone in 2005, with new flooring throughout and mostly new wiring and plumbing. As you enter the living room from the front porch note the gleaming hardwood floors in the living room.
The current owners are using the living room as a formal dining room as they like to entertain while enjoying a meal. They added the contemporary light fixture but the almost new ceiling fan is available if you would prefer that.
From the living room move in to the totally redone kitchen that will be a cook’s delight. Everything is newer in here including the flooring, the sink, the oak cabinets and the lighting. Add to that a newer electric range, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a full sized refrigerator. The kitchen will be the place where everyone can gather with lots of room for a table and chairs or add an island.
Off the kitchen is one of the owners favorite rooms. Warm enough for all weather enjoyment, the family room is light and bright with windows all around. With easy access to the side porch, this will probably be where you enter the house.
With neutral walls and light carpeting, you will never experience the winter blues as you relax and enjoy the views of the gardens and the surrounding countryside. When the weather turns warmer, the air conditioning, new in 2005, will cool everyone to a comfortable temperature.
The bedrooms and baths were also part of the upgrading in this home. Located on the first floor are two bedrooms and one full bath. The front bedroom is neutral and has lots of light. Window shades are included so that you can sleep whenever.
The second bedroom on the first floor has a deep rich red color and would make a perfect bedroom or den. The first floor bath has a newer oak vanity and a full bath tub.
The second floor bedrooms are mirror images of each other. Painted in lighter colors with neutral carpeting these bedrooms are perfect if you like a second floor bedroom. The second floor bath also has an oak vanity and full bath. With four bedrooms and two full baths, this is a perfect home for a growing family.
